What is desktop virtualization?
Desktop virtualization is a set of mainstream technologies that optimize the delivery of desktops, applications and data to users. The operating system, apps and data are decoupled from the underlying PC hardware and moved to the datacenter, where they can be centrally managed and secured. Instead of juggling thousands of static desktop images, IT can manage and update the OS and apps once, from one location, then deliver desktops and apps that are customized to meet the performance, security and mobility requirements of each individual user.
This five-day course is for existing or prospective Citrix IT Academy instructors. It prepares Instructors to setup and deliver the Citrix XenDesktop Administration course and provides information on how to become a Citrix IT Academy.
This course provides the foundation necessary for administrators to effectively centralize and manage desktops in the datacenter and deliver them as a service to users anywhere. Instructors will learn how to build a virtual desktop environment using Citrix XenDesktop, assign virtual desktops to users and customize the user experience through policies. This course also provides instruction on how to build a Provisioning services farm to enable single-image desktop management, and how to host virtual machines on different client devices using Citrix XenClient.
Instructor Background and Prerequisites:
